Well, it’s been a long, hot Summer here in Fresno. I’ve worked harder than I expected to, but I suppose it will all seem worth it when I don’t have to work so hard anymore…..I have learned a great deal in this class, but mostly my confidence in internet production stuff has increased. And I suppose these EdTec classes are starting to seem like they tie together in a Gordian Knot sort of way….
Here’s my 6+ minute podcast. I had fun making it, but uploading it to the blog has been a real pain. I think it was because I didn’t have the .mov extension on the end of the file. I was unable to upload the movie until I added that back to the filename.
Here’s the error message I got:
Anyway, here is the video….

And here is the link to the BTSA blog.
Thanks Karl for a challenging class!

Well, today most of my family went to Morro Bay for a daytrip. I went back to work. So, I seized the opportunity. A short interview with those involved, some waves and gulls.
Hope this works!

Hello! My name is Greg. I live in Fresno, California and work in Madera, which is a small city about 20 minutes north from here. I have worked for Madera Unified School District since 2000 and began teaching 5th grade. I taught 5th grade for four years then moved up to 6th grade where I taught for two years. The following school year, I took a Teacher on Special Assignment (TSA) position as Technology Coach for the District. I provide support and training for teachers and students at three sites consisting of approximately 100 teachers and 1000+ students (there’s a lot of computers in there somewhere, too!)
I have only minimal experience with blogs. I have created a couple of them in the past but have not maintained them very much at all. I have looked for home recording blogs and have found a few that I like to visit now and then. I have never contributed to a wiki, nor have I created one…so I have lots to learn here. I have minimal experience with podcasts as well. I have created a few of them over the last few years, but I have had to relearn how to do it each time. I hope to give it another go this Summer and keep at it!
Our Technology department in Madera might be able to share a blog site like this one for posting tech-tips and video tutorials for their respective school sites. My idea at this time is to create a blog where each school site can have their own page(s) to house informationan and support materials for using technology at school. I don’t know….just an idea.
